Details of Fish River Canyon
Africa's largest gorge and the second largest in the world (after the Grand Canyon), Fish River Canyon is a 500-million-year-old canyon formed not only by the Fish River, but by earth crust movement that caused an existing valley floor to collapse. This creates a jaw-dropping 500m drop seemingly out of nowhere and makes for stunning photography.

For the more adventurous, the 4-day Fish River Hiking Trail is an exhausting but rewarding hiking trail open from May to September to those fit enough to handle it.

Short Overview
The world’s second largest canyon might not be as famous as the Grand Canyon, but Fish River Canyon is a stunning geological landmark renowned for its hiking, white-water rafting, and overall picturesque nature.
