Alex, one of our Shadows guides and drivers, recently took some guests on safari to Lake Manyara National Park, Ngorongoro Conservation Area, and Serengeti National Park (Central). Have a look at how it went below in pictures:
From Arusha town they went direct to Lake Manyara National Park where they saw plenty of giraffes and birdlife!
The next day they went for a game drive in Ngorongoro. Here they had a cheeky monkey jump and rest on their car! Among other animals seen within the crater, a highlight was seeing a pride of lions up close to the car.
The following day they ventured around Central Serengeti on a game drive. They were extra lucky to see the first migration of wildebeest and zebra migrating back to the southern part of the Serengeti. Because of the changes in climate, the migratory timings are slowly changing as historically the migration should predominantly be in Kenya, and start returning in November.
In central, they also saw both Leopards and Cheetahs. The photos below really highlight the difference between these two animals. The most prominent distinctions between the two are that cheetahs have solid spots, separated spots and black tear marks on their face. The leopard has bunched up spots, no tear marks and has retractable claws unlike the cheetah.
