Details of Singita Mara River Tented Camp

The Lamai triangle is celebrated for its annual wildebeest migration crossings. It covers 98,000 acres of the northern-most tip of the Serengeti National Park in Tanzania, slotted between the Maasai Mara National Park in Kenya in the north and the Mara River in the south. Distinctive soil composition results in one of the highest year-round concentrations of wildlife in the Serengeti National Park.

Short Overview

Singita Mara River Tented Camp is the epitome of sustainable tourism and consciously seeks to eliminate the unnecessary use of energy and non-biodegradable materials. In keeping with this philosophy, the camp operates “off-the-grid” and relies entirely on a custom designed solar system for its power and the use of recycled and natural materials wherever possible. Inside the camp, bohemian chic sets the tone for cool relaxation, where spun natural fabrics, canvas, stone and raw leather blend with Maasai primary colours and elegant art pieces by young African designers and craftsmen. The functional East African design encourages guests to embrace the outdoors and connect with nature.

IIf you're planning a safari in East Africa for 2027, there's a new item on your checklist. Kenya, mainland Tanzania and Zanzibar now each require foreign visitors to buy a Government Travel Insurance Policy as a condition of entry. Kenya and mainland Tanzania started their schemes in early October 2026...
Women of the Maasai are globally known for their beaded jewellery and vibrant red shukas. This craft of beadmaking acts as a visual language passed from mother to daughter. Specific patterns, shapes, and layers reveal a person’s marital status, age group, and social rank. Besides beadmaking, Maasai women are responsible...
Rainy Season in Tanzania doesn't always mean cancelled plans and flooded roads; some showers blow through in minutes. However, some can mess with your driving or getting to a remote camp. The difference comes down to the month, the region, and how ready you've made yourself. Think of this as...
Kenya's Safari story usually gets told through the Maasai Mara, Amboseli, and the Big Five. However, beyond those famous names there are mountain forests, flamingo-covered lakes, dry northern reserves, conservation projects, and gorges. You can actually walk through on foot on these gorges. That's where an Off-Beat Kenya Safari comes...
A first Kenya Safari usually centres on the big names. For instance, lions, elephants, the Maasai Mara and the excitement of seeing everything for the first time. A second trip feels different. There's less pressure to complete a checklist. There's more room to notice the small stuff: how a herd...
