Samburu National Reserve - Two-day trip from Nairobi
Short Overview
This two-day safari in Kenya explores Samburu National Reserve which is situated on the banks of the Ewaso Ng'iro River in Kenya. This means plenty of water, trees and shade to attract wildlife like elephants, lions, giraffes and zebras from the surrounding savannah plains. Leopards are also regularly spotted. The area is home to the Samburu tribe, pastoral relatives of the Masai. Samburu Reserve as a safari destination has a rugged and dramatic landscape, the river Ewaso Ng'iro runs along the southern boundary and is home to crocodiles and hippos with many animals visiting to drink during the heat of the day.
Species of the game unique to Samburu game reserve include the Beisa Oryx, the long-necked gerenuk, Grevy's zebra, reticulated giraffe and the blue shanked Somali ostrich.

DAY 1 - NAIROBI - SAMBURU NATIONAL RESERVE
You will be picked up from your town hotel and we depart from Nairobi to Samburu National Reserve by road at Kenya’s Northern Frontier District.
Wild and rugged, Samburu is fiercely beautiful with its arid savannahs watered by the lovely river Ewaso Ng'iro. It is also one of Kenya’s most protected areas and home to species only found north of the equator, from the reticulated giraffes, Grevy’s zebras, Beisa Oryx’s, gerenuk gazelles and greater and lesser kudu. You will arrive in time for lunch and check-in at the selected lodge, a few minutes’ leisure then you proceed with the first thrilling game drive at the reserve till the sun sets, then drive back to your lodge for dinner and overnight.
DAY 2 - SAMBURU NATIONAL RESERVE - NAIROBI
Rise and shine before the sun and head for an amazing early morning game drive - Samburu will present itself in a different light, shape, and wildlife action. Return to your lodge for a late breakfast and then drive back to Nairobi. You will arrive in Nairobi in the early afternoon.
