DAY 1 - ZANZIBAR - DAR ES SALAAM - UDZUNGWA MOUNTAINS NATIONAL PARK
Flight or Ferry from Zanzibar to Dar es Salaam
With a picnic lunch in tow, you'll make the drive towards the African Galapagos - the Udzungwa Mountains. With a huge variety of endemic wildlife and flora, the park is something unlike anything you'll see elsewhere in Tanzania.
Not a traditional game-drive destination, you'll instead stretch your legs with a guided hike into the mountains, where you'll enjoy a picnic lunch by a waterfall before spending the night in the park.
DAY 2 - UDZUNGWA MOUNTAINS - MIKUMI
After breakfast, you'll make the drive to the Mikumi National Park. Sometimes called the most accessible corner of Selous and sometimes compared favourably to the open plains of the Serengeti, Mikumi is Tanzania's fourth largest national park and a game-viewer's dream.
The Mkata Floodplain is the park's most dominant feature, and it is here that antelope fans will have their best chance to see the powerful Eland in large numbers. Bird watchers will also find a huge variety of feathered favourites within the park, with more than 400 bird species residing within the park's borders.
DAY 3 - MIKUMI - DAR ES SALAAM - ZANZIBAR
You’ll continue your safari adventure with a morning game drive in Mikumi. Late morning proceed driving to Dar Es Salaam where you will take Ferry or flight back to Zanzibar.
