Details of The Africa House

The Africa House is located in stone town. The Sunset Bar is very popular and comes highly recommended actually Africa hotel Bar is known for sundowners.

ROOMS:

The Africa House Hotel offers accommodation in a total of 15 rooms divided into 3 categories:

  • 1 Royal Deluxe Room,
  • 6 Twin or Double Deluxe Seaview Rooms and
  • 8 Twin or Double Deluxe Stone Town View Rooms.

Each room is equipped with all modern conveniences.

Royal Deluxe Room

The Royal Deluxe Room is the largest and most exclusive room of the Africa House. The light-flooded room with large windows and timber-ceiling, situated on a corner, radiates a stately charm and elegance.

The room is lavishly furnished with Persian carpets, Zanzibari chests, a sitting area and an antique, king-size four-poster bed. An emerald green silk blanket covering the bed and thick curtains framing the room-high windows add to the atmosphere.

The air-conditioned room has an ensuite bathroom, satellite TV, telephone, tea and coffee making facilities and a minibar which is stocked on request.

Twin or Double Deluxe Seaview

The Deluxe Seaview Rooms are situated one flight of stairs down from the Sunset Bar. As the name indicates, the rooms offer expansive views of the Indian Ocean.

The Deluxe Seaview Rooms are slightly larger than the standard Deluxe Rooms. All rooms are furnished with Zanzibari beds decorated with stylish silk blankets and mosquito netting.

The rooms include air-conditioning, ensuite bathroom, satellite TV, telephone, tea and coffee making facilities and a minibar which is stocked on request.

Twin or Double Deluxe Stone Town View

Located in the older part of the building and divided between two floors, the Deluxe Stone Town View Rooms offer views over the rooftops of Stone Town and the courtyard facing the hotel entrance.

The rooms have timber ceilings and are nicely decorated with Zanzibari furniture and a hand-carved wooden chest. The traditional four-poster beds with mosquito net are covered with emerald green or ruby red blankets adorned with golden embroidery. Thick curtains frame the large windows.

All rooms offer air-conditioning, ensuite bathroom, satellite TV, telephone, tea and coffee making facilities and a minibar which is stocked on request.

Short Overview

The Africa House includes accommodation with 15 rooms, the Sunset Bar, Tradewinds Restarant and The Majlis shisha lounge as well as a library that can be used for private meetings and conferences. Location is great as it is located in tourist part of Stone Town and guests have easy access to the centre, 5 minutes walk.
