Gonarezhou National Park

Details

Details of Gonarezhou National Park

Boasting a dazzling array of landscapes that range from sandstone cliffs to eye-catching baobabs to forests to savannah, the park is also home to a large variety of big game including lions, hyenas, zebras, leopards, buffaloes, wild dogs, antelopes, and a huge variety of bird life.

Like Hwange, the park is also home to a large elephant population that acts as its main attraction. Some 12,000 elephants call the park and its connected parks home.

This is undoubtedly a wilder park than you’ll find elsewhere, with animals far less used to tourists than in other major parks.

Short Overview

Part of the massive Great Limpopo Transfrontier Park that sees Zimbabwe, South Africa, and Mozambique sharing one massive park - Gonarezhou is the country’s second largest national park and one of its best kept secrets.
