Mikumi is an ideal place to spot lions as they lazily survey the vast herds of buffalo, zebra, wildebeest, and impala that roam the grasslands. Elephants seek the shade of acacia stands while hippopotamus wallows in pools close to the entrance gate. With this fly-in and out safari - you make the most of your time on Zanzibar by adding an unforgettable safari experience. - DAY 1 - ZANZIBAR - MIKUMI - ZANZIBAR
DAY 1 - ZANZIBAR - MIKUMI - ZANZIBAR
You will be picked up at your hotel in Zanzibar for the drive to Zanzibar airport. There you will board your morning flight to Mikumi. You will arrive in Mikimu after a flight of around an hour and will set off for your game drive.
When the time is right you will enjoy your picnic lunch right in the wilderness. Mikumi National Park is sometimes called the most accessible corner of Selous and sometimes compared favourably to the open plains of the Serengeti, Mikumi is Tanzania's fourth-largest national park and a game viewer’s dream. With your guide, you will set off in search of wildlife like lion, eland, hartebeest, buffalo, wildebeest, giraffe, zebra and elephant.
After an unforgettable game drive, you will set off back to the airstrip for your flight back to Zanzibar. Your plane will depart in the late afternoon around 15.30 - and you will be back in Zanzibar airport at 17:00. There you will be met by our driver and taken back to your hotel with a head full of memories and a camera full of unforgettable photos.
