An average duration of nature walks is from 1.5 to 2.5 hours.

Ngorongoro Conversation Area walking possibilities:

  • Empakai crater: following the nature trail from the rim to the floor takes 30 minutes. Also possible to take longer walks around the crater Rim, which will take a whole day, its 32 km to walk.
  • Olmoti Crater  Hiking -
  • Ol Donyo Lengai Mountain (2.878 m) trekking
  • Lake Natron  - for visitors interested in longer treks, 3 to 5 treks can be arranged from Empakai Crater to lake Natron.
  • Endoro River Nature trail - 5 km long, duration of the hike is approximately 2 hours. On teh way you will see elephant caves, waterfalls and wild animals. It is possible to visit throughout the year, but there might be rains in April and May.
