The best of  Rwanda &  Tanzania Trekking up the volcanic slopes may be very demanding, especially after rainfall, which makes the ground muddy and the vegetation thick and wet. The Virunga Mountains are steep and some of the groups of gorillas hard to reach, which is why prior acclimatisation is of great importance. The trek will take place at an altitude from 2500 m to 3000 m, so there is no fear of altitude sickness. DAY 1: Met on arrival by your Driver Guide at Kigali Airport We will proceed to Ruhengeri area the fourth largest town in Rwanda, with its stunning backdrop of three volcanic mountains -The virungas. Drive on the twin lakes of Bulera  Ruhondo-These beautiful lakes located at the base of volcano Muhabura and close to the border with Uganda.They are surrounded by steps hills and large waterfalls with a backdrop of the Virunga volcanic mountains. These twin lakes are great spots to be visited and used to be reffered to as neglected gems but things have changed and Bulera and Ruhon do are a place not worth missing on. Their deep blue waters ringed by steep hills and tall waterfalls with the outlines of the nearby Virunga Volcanoes provide a spectacular backdrop. Take a boat ride to Ruhondo beach for lunch and later drive back to the town arriving at your Hotel. DAY 2: A once in a life time experience of tracking mountain gorillas – An early wake in readiness for eagerly awaited event of the day and drive to Kinigi; the home to Volcanoes You will meet your guides for the day.After completing our Park formalities , we are embark on a once in a life time experience of tracking mountain gorillas.Once you spot them you are allowed to spend an hour watching your closest long lost cousin.This is perhaps one of the most breathtaking wild life experiences on earth.You get so close to these awesome giant primates.You stare each other blankly not knowing who to break the long silence first.Tracking the gorillas through the light mountain forest on the slopes of Virunga is a magical experience.These massive primates are extremely rare , with less than 700 living today.You will get within meters of the family , and be privileged to spend an hour amongst them.The trekking may be fairly strenuous;up to six hours or longer at the relatively high altitude.We encourage for your own enjoyment to make sure that you are perfectly fit and healty.It is importand to bring good hiking boots , long throusers, gloves for protection against stinging nettles ,some snack&sweets(for you, not gorillas)as well as sufficient water as the rain forest gets hot and humid during the day.You will spend one hour with gorillas , but it is one hour you will never forget.Return to your hotel for lunch and late dinner and overnight.     After breakfast be transferred back to Kigali for a city tour of one of the friendliest African Capitals Take a complementar city tour to visit interesting spots which may include -the craft market -Gisozi genocide memorial site & Kigali museum   Drive to Airport.
