Details of Mgahinga Gorilla National Park

Like neighbouring Bwindi Impenetrable, Mgahinga is most known for its gorilla trekking, and is an alternative to those who perhaps cannot get a permit for Bwindi Impenetrable.

Noteable for its impressive views from atop the Virunga Mountains, the park is home to a single family of gorillas who are not guaranteed to be present within the park at any given time - having moved into either Rwanda or Congo.

Golden monkeys can also be tracked within the park, and a variety of boreal wildlife including forest hogs, jackals, buffalos, and elephants are occasional sights within the densely forested park.
