The Mkomazi National Park has a very hostile habitat for birds and is inhabited by over 450 bird species. Doves, weavers, guinea-fowls and hornbills are all present in large flocks. Some of the other birds in this national park are the Martial eagle, Violet wood-hoopoe, Banded Green Sunbird, Hunter's Sunbird and the White-chested Alethe.
