One of Africa’s most unique parks, KgalagadiTransfrontier’s red dunes and seemingly inhospitable desert make it something unlike anything you’ll encounter elsewhere.

Despite these conditions, life is still abundant within the park, with Kalahari lions, meerkats, gemsbok, and a variety of birds calling the park’s dunes home.

Cheetahs and hyenas are also common sights in the park, preying on the abundant wildebeest. Larger herbivores are not present, but the park is one of the better places in South Africa to look for leopards. The elusive pangolin is also a popular animal to spot in the wild.
