DAY 2 - NAIROBI CITY TOUR

You will start your safari adventure with a visit to the bomas of Kenya. Here you can enjoy a pleasant taste of Kenya's rich cultural treasures. This interactive museum shows traditional villages belonging to the different Kenyan tribes.

Later in the morning, at 11am, head to the Sheldrick Willife Trust. This is a favorite attraction in Nairobi - even among expats who have lived there for years. DAY 3 - NAIROBI - AMBOSELI NATIONAL PARK

After breakfast, we'll depart from Nairobi for Amboseli National Park. Most famous for its stunning views of Africa's highest mountain, Mt. Kilimanjaro, the park offers photographers the rare opportunity to snap photos of elephants, lions, zebras, and giraffes against the startling backdrop of Africa's most famous mountain.

You'll have lunch at your lodge upon arrival before heading out into the park for an afternoon game drive.

DAY 4 - AMBOSELI NATIONAL PARK

Wake before the dawn for an unforgettable sunrise game drive within the park. Kilimanjaro never looks quite as beautiful as she does first thing in the morning, and you'll also get to see predators such as leopards, lions, and cheetahs out on the prowl in the cooler morning air.

They don't call Amboseli the Royal Court of Kilimanjaro for nothing, and as you take in its large elephant herds and the stunning panorama of Mt. Kilimanjaro, you'll see why this is one of Kenya's most beloved pars.

After your morning game drive and a late breakfast, relax at the lodge for a few hours before heading out into the park again in the afternoon. With the animals largely inactive during the warm midday hours, you can get some rest before catching them out and about in the cooling afternoon air.

DAY 5 - AMBOSELI NATIONAL PARK - TSAVO EAST NATIONAL PARK

You'll wake before the dawn for an unparalleled view of Mount Kilimanjaro at sunrise. For those wanting to snap a picture of Africa's iconic elephant herds against the backdrop of the Tanzanian mountain, this is an opportunity not to be missed!

After returning to your lodge for breakfast, you'll depart for Tsavo East National Park - home to Kenya's famous 'red elephants'. So named for the volcanic red dust that they 'bathe' in, the elephants of Tsavo are something unique to Kenya.

In fact, 'unique' could very well be the perfect word to describe the twin parks of Tsavo West and Tsavo East. With their blend of volcanic terrain, palm-lined rivers, idyllic oases, and liquid lava, the park is like something out of fantasy.

A highlight of your visit to the park will undoubtedly be a visit to the Mzima Springs, where a partially submerged viewing chamber allows you to see the wallowing hippos like you've never seen them before.

DAY 7 - TAITA HILLS WILDLIFE SANCTUARY

After breakfast, you'll depart to Tsavo West Area to stay at Taita Hills - Salt Lick Lodge.

For decades Salt Lick Safari Lodge has been one of Kenya’s flagship lodges, famed for being among the World’s Most Photographed Lodges. A favourite amongst travellers in search of luxury accommodation, Salt Lick Safari Lodge is a luxurious safari escape set in the heart of the Taita Hills Wildlife Sanctuary overlooking a waterhole and the vast Tsavo plains.

Salt Lick Safari Lodge’s charm is evident from the outset. Here you will savour uncompromising high standards of service, efficiency and personalised attention.

The Taita Hills Wildlife Conservancy derives its name from the surrounding clusters of hills and is an integral part of the Eastern Arc forests classified as an biodiversity hotspot. The conservancy covers an area of 28,000 acres of mosaic habitat where the plant physiognomy is riverine forest, savanna wood and grassland. The vegetation formation is usually dense, stratified and always dominated by Acacia /Commiphora trees and may appear to be evergreen in wet areas such as in the central lowlands of the sanctuary.

The sanctuary straddles the Southern Tsavo West National Park and is an important dispersal area and migrating corridor for wildlife between Tsavo East National Park and Tsavo West National Park and making it a highly valued tourism recreational area and of ecological importance. The topography is generally mountainous that offers breath taking landscape views of the Kilimanjaro, Pare, Uluguru mountains and the clusters of Taita Hills with a seasonal river dividing the sanctuary into valleys and lowland plains.

Night game drives provide guests with an opportunity of seeing animals not usually encountered on a daytime game drive such as spotted and striped hyena, mongoose, jackal, civet, genet, porcupine and bush baby. Salt Lick Safari Lodge have highly trained rangers equipped with powerful spotlights to take guests on this experience of a totally different world after dark, when you may have the thrilling opportunity to see a predator actively hunting.

Most predators are more active at night so night drives also provide the opportunity of experiencing the ‘Circle of Life’.

Activity is on shared basis - use of sanctuary vehicle, ranger and spotlight.
