Queen Elizabeth National Park is Uganda's premier game drive destination, and is famed across Africa for its rolling plains and its wildlife diversity.
Home to four of the Big Five and a popular birding destination, "QE" is the perfect way to see Africa's most iconic wildlife in between gorilla and chimpanzee trekking, as it lies midway between Kibale and Bwindi Impenetrable.
Size: 1,978 square kilometres.
Location: Midway between Kibale and Bwindi Impenetrable National Parks.
Best Time: January to February and June through August. Dry season provides better game-viewing conditions. Heavy rainfall in April – May and September – November make the park’s dirt roads hard to navigate.
To Do: Game drives, Kazinga channel cruise, guided walks, chimpanzee trekking, and bird-watching.
Known For: Tree-climbing lions, four of the Big Five, and Kazinga channel.
