Details of Queen Elizabeth National Park
Uganda’s premier safari destination couldn’t be better situated – ideally located between the gorillas of Bwindi and the chimpanzees of Kibale. It makes for the perfect pit stop between the two popular parks, and provides some of the best game-viewing you’ll find outside of Kenya and Tanzania’s large parks.
Four of the Big Five are present (rhinos being the absentee), with the park one of only two places on earth where you can hope to see tree-climbing lions.
The park also has a small but habituated chimpanzee family, and treks to see them can be arranged.
Kazinga Channel, linking Lake Edward and Lake George, plays host to multiple daily boat cruises that provide a great platform for seeing waterbirds, buffalo, crocodiles, hippos, and more. A huge variety of accommodation – ranging from backpacker to luxury – makes it a great park for all budgets.
Bird watchers are in for a treat – with over 600 species of bird calling the large park home.
