Archeological discoveries at the Hyrax Hill Reserve
It is currently the 4th largest urban centre in the country and is the provincial capital of Kenya"s Rift Valley. Its history can perhaps be traced to the pre-historic period due to the archeological discoveries located 8km from the Central Business District at the Hyrax Hill Reserve.
A cosmopolitan town
It was established by the British as part of the white highlands during the colonial era and it has continued to grow in to a cosmopolitan town.
Nakuru population is predominantly African but the town has a cosmopolitan feel. It is populated by people from many regions of Kenya and the world. Agriculture and manufacturing also from part of the back bone of Nakuru economy and also remains an education centre.
