The historic city of Harar has been a major trade centre for centuries. The walled city was built between the 13th and 16th centuries and is home to 82 mosques and 102 shrines crammed into just 48 hectares of space.
Visitors to Harar can wander around the walled city’s brightly coloured streets, visit the museums, and take a visit to the spice market to awaken their senses!
Guests can also stay in a uniquely decorated cultural guest houses and get close and personal with hyenas, feed the kite birds at the meat market, or pay a visit to the elephant sanctuary or camel market in the nearby town of Babile.
