Safari to Katavi National Park 3 nights

View the chimpanzees in their natural habitat!

Katavi is an unspoiled and impressive location for great wildlife viewing. In the dry season (May to October) you will see any number of the park's 4 000 elephant, large herds of buffalo, pods of hippo piled on top of one another in the thin streams, zebra, giraffe, and there are probably more lions than people in the park! More spectacular are the high concentrations of crocodiles, the highest recorded in East Africa! The rare roan and sable antelope species can also be found in the park, together with predators such as lion and leopards. In the rainy season (November to April) water is plentiful. The pans become shallow lakes, the rivers flood and the game disperses to all parts of the reserve. Best visited is in the more benign dry season. The Katavi National Park is isolated and very seldom visited. Vegetation consists of mainly miombo woodland.
