Oliver’s Camp

Details of Oliver’s Camp

In April and May, when the annual rains come to an end, the lush grasslands and profusion of wildflowers provide the best opportunity for walking safaris, while the approaching dry season from August through to October brings vast herds of wildlife to the watery wetlands on the fringes of Oliver’s Camp. At this time, Tarangire boasts the highest concentration of mammals in any of Tanzania’s renowned national parks, yet as the November rains return the herds depart and the return of migratory birds provides ample entertainment for twitchers.

TENTS:

At Oliver’s the 10 en-suite safari tents offer bush luxury without superfluous frills; the spacious outdoor shower perhaps the one extravagance you’ll happily allow.

Short Overview

Oliver's Camp is situated in the remote south-eastern reaches of the Tarangire National Park. This relatively undeveloped park celebrated by safari travellers looking to head a little off the beaten track offers a welcome respite from the crowds of the Serengeti and Ngorongoro Crater to the north. The latest addition is also Little Olivers camp designed for families.
