Boasting a landscape of almost alien beauty, the arid park is alive with life of a smaller variety. Sustained by the fogs that arise each morning from the cold Atlantic Ocean, the park’s residents include ground squirrels, rock hyrax, mountain zebras, buzzards, and the eerie ‘half-human’ trees.

 

A rugged and rough park, Richtersveld is only accessible by 4WD vehicle, and is a photographer’s dream with its rock formations and blue skies.
