Departing from Kendwa early in the morning, a two hours long boat ride will bring you to the shores of the Saadani national park. This 1100 square kilometres big national park is the only one in Tanzania, bordering the ocean. A fantastic day in the bush, supported by a picnic lunch somewhere in the middle of nowhere, finished with an invigorating swim in the ocean.
Saadani National Park covers 1100 km2. It is the only wildlife sanctuary in Tanzania bordering the sea. Wildlife in Saadani includes four of the Big Five, namely lions, African bush elephants, Cape buffaloes, and leopards.

After an early morning pickup at your hotel in Zanzibar, you'll drive to Kendwa and embark on a boat, irradiated by the sunrise, to the shores of mainland Tanzania, and disembark at the Saadani national park.
You won't see the whole 1100 square kilometres, but your day-long safari will give you plenty of opportunities to see four of the big five - lion, buffalo, elephant, and leopard - who hunt and graze the wast lands of Saadani. Somewhere half-way you'll stop for an abundant lunch in the bush. After a full day of an exhilarating game drive, you will have a chance for a swim in the ocean and some relaxation on the beach before returning to Zanzibar.
