Situated in the Drakensberg Escarpemtn, Blyde River Canyon Reserve is home to the canyon for which it is named as well as other natural wonders including Pinnacle Rock, God's Window, and the Bourke's Luck Potholes.
Wildlife enthusiasts are not left wanting either, as the park is home to a number of animals including primates and antelopes.
In addition to game-viewing and taking in the panoramic views, Blyde River Canyon is also an excellent place for hiking, white water rafting, horse riding, fishing, cycling, and kloofing. Hot air balloon flights over the canyon are also possible.

The third largest canyon in the world (after the Grand Canyon and Fish River Canyon), Blyde River Canyon is surrounded by the 29,000 hectare Blyde River Canyon Reserve. In addition to the vast canyon, the reserve is also home to a number of other notable geological landmarks.
