Alex is an expert safari guide, and he values his professional experience highly, but that doesn’t stop him from sharing the joy he gets from his work with all of his travelers.
Cool, charming, and funny - Alex is a favorite especially among our younger travelers. He has earned a reputation for himself with his cheeky jokes and great sense of humor.

Alex’s age: 36 years old
Hailing from the Chaga tribe, born in the Northern Circuit underneath the Kilimanjaro mountain itself, he takes great pride in the natural beauty of his homeland. He probably knows more about this region than anyone. Whatever you’re interested in, Alex has a lot of knowledge that may just leave you in awe after a safari with him.
The Kilimanjaro region is world-famous for its locally-grown coffee. If you love coffee, Alex is your guy. He can tell you all about the local coffee: the flavor, the history, and the culture. He may even take you to taste a cup or two for yourself, if you ask. I’m sure he won’t turn up an opportunity to drink some himself as well!
Alex’s favorite food: cooked banana (done the Tanzanian way!)

Alex has been a safari guide for an incredible 12 years now, but in many ways he has been a guide for even longer. Perhaps even his whole life. Either way, he has been doing this for a very long time. Alex even inherits his name from his grandfather, so he has a lot of history to share with travelers.
He knows how to take care of people in this area. This part of the world is his home, and the home of his ancestors. He knows how to get around, how to find absolutely anything, and how to give travelers exactly what they’re looking for.
"Our guide Alex could not have taken better care of us. He took the time to understand what our interests were & adjusted the trip accordingly. He is extremely knowledgeable on birds and animals, providing us info on both and searching for those he knew we wanted to see and boy did he deliver! We saw over 44 species, including leopard and rhino and wild dogs."
