Details of Bale Mountains National Park

In keeping with Ethiopia's status as a land of startling contrasts, Bale Mountain National Park is a land of rugged mountains, cloud-dampened alpine forest, and the country's largest concentration of large mammals.

Isolated far from the regular tourist attractions, Bale Mountains National Park rewards those who are willing to make the effort to get there.

The Mountain Nyala and Semien Fox are endemic to the park, while larger game such as kudu and bushbucks also roam the highlands.

While large predators such as leopards and lions are an uncommon sight, the Serval Cat and Semien Fox are common sights out on the prowl.

Bird-watchers and hikers are sure to find something to capture their imagination in the park as well.
