Details of African Rock Python (Python sebae)

The African rock python is the largest african snake and one of the six largest snake species in the world. It can be up to 6 metres. The snake is found in different habitats, from forests to near deserts,  usually near sources of water. The African rock python kills its prey by constriction. It often eats animals up to the size of antelope, sometimes even crocodiles.

Length - 3 metres, sometimes up to 6 metres.


Weight - 32-55 kg, occasionally up to 90 kg


 Colour: body markings vary between brown, olive, chestnut, and yellow, but fade to white on the underside.
